The Novel coronavirus has caught the world on its knees and continues to trouble many countries. Majority of those affected by the virus continue are in dire need of medical supplies and other basic needs. In India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that a PM-CARES Fund has been put in place and the money donated will be used for any emergencies, which might unfold in the future. He also invited citizens to make donations to the fund.

The
Prime Minister’scall for help got the attention of Actor Akshay Kumar todonate
to the said fund. He has pledged Rs 25 crore to the fund. His tweet reads:
“This is that time when all that matters in the lives of our people.
And we
need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25
crores from my savings to @narendramodi Ji's PM-CARES Fund.”
Kapil Sharma
Another top celebrity who heeded the prime minister’s call wasComedian KapilSharma,
‘The
Kapil Sharma Show’host. Kapilpledged Rs 50 Lakh towards the Prime Minister’s
relief fund.
Varun Dhawan
To add on the list also was

Varun Dhawan took who pledged to contribute 30 lakhs towards the PM CARE fund.
Varun on his contribution said
"We will overcome this. Desh hai, toh hum
hain,"
Hema Malini
And
from the Hindi film industry, Hema Malini, who is also a Member of Parliament
from the Mathura constituency,
donated Rs 1 crore from the Members of
Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) for mitigating the virus.
Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas
Telegu
film industry actors,Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and Prabhas, had also earlier
made donations towards the state and national relief funds to fight the
coronavirus pandemic. The trio announced contributions worth Rs 1 crore each,
while Ram Charan pledged to contribute Rs 70 Lakhs.
Pawan Kalyan
PawanKalyan also announced he will donate Rs 50 lakhs to both the Andhra Pradesh and
Telangana Chief Ministers’ relief fund and a crore to the Prime Minister’s
relief fund.
AlluArjun made a donation of a crore and 25 Lakhs. The actor stated that he will donate
1 Crore and 25 Lakhs to the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala.
In
