Fighting The Corona Virus:How Tycoons Are Helping in India

The deadly novel coronavirus continues to sweep across the globe and many countries continue to announce lockdowns and temporary shutdowns. Unfortunately, many people are suffering from the disease and others are losing the sources of their livelihoods. It is in light with this need for assisting those affected top Indian business leaders and tycoons join in the call to help during this trying times. 1.Mukesh Ambani He is undoubtedly the richest man in India. In his contributions towards this pandemic, Mukesh pledged 5 Crore INR to the Relief Fund. He also announced that the Reliance Industries Limited will be manufacturing 100,000 face masks daily as well as protective gears for health workers in the frontline in the fight against COVID-19. 2. Anand Mahindra To help in the fight against COVID-19, the Mahindra Group Chairman has offered to convert Mahindra Holiday resorts as temporary care facilities. Additionally, the group will immediately begin work on how their manufacturing facilities can make ventilators. 3. Ratan Tata The Tata Group companies’ director was not left out in this. He has promised that his company will pay the salaries for those employed under temporary basis and daily wage earners in March and April. Further, he pledged a donation of 500 Crore INR. 4. Manu Kumar Jain Not to be left out in this call for help is the Managing Director of Xiaomi India. And in his support in the fight against COVID-19, the company has pledged to donate N95 masks and protective suits. Also, calling out on others to help in the fight. 5. Vijay Shekhar Sharma The founder of Paytm has also joined in this noble call. And to make this possible, he has promised to give up his two months’ salary to ensure that his employees get full remuneration during this difficult period. 6. Anita Dongre Anita Dongre, the founder of House of Dongre also chose to stand with the self-employed artisans, small vendors and those who are associated with her brand set up a dedicated fund of 15million INR to support any medical treatments arising during these troubling times. 7. Anil Agarwal To be touched into action was the Executive Chairman of Vedanta Resources Limited. And in his support to the many people facing uncertainty, especially the daily wage earners, Anil pledged 100 crores towards the fight against COVID-19.
